About Robert

Robert Steen joined USAA in 2004. He is currently a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and an advice director with the Enterprise Advice Group. In this role, he helps establish USAA's advice standards and create meaningful personal finance content designed to facilitate members' financial security. Robert focuses on retirement planning and management, trust and estate planning, charitable gifting, and distribution of assets.

Robert previously served as a USAA senior wealth manager. He has more than 14 years of experience serving the needs of high-net-worth members, families and business owners in investments, retirement planning, tax planning, risk management, life income planning, and estate and legacy planning.

Prior to joining USAA, Robert worked as a financial consultant and held leadership roles in international trade and development.

Robert is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in radio, television and film. He earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a doctorate in financial and retirement planning from the American College.

Robert also holds the Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP™) designation.

Robert and his wife have two children. He enjoys traveling, music, outdoor activities, cooking and spending time with family.
