What's classic car insurance?
Classic car insurance is specialized coverage that helps protect your work of art on wheels in ways regular auto insurance can't. Typically, a standard auto policy won't cover your classic car's full assessed value because it factors in age, mileage and depreciation. You may spend time and money restoring your vehicle, so it could be worth far more than its depreciated value.
For more than 30 years, we've worked with American Collectors Insurance, a leading provider of classic car and collectibles protection. Their dedicated teams help make sure USAA members get a great mix of coverage, pricing and service.
Your classic car policy includes:
-
Agreed-value Coverage
Your car's value is based on its condition, rarity and features. If there's a covered total loss, you receive the full insured value, minus any applicable deductible. There's no depreciation.
-
Mileage Plan
In most states, you can customize your policy to match how much you drive your car each year. Choose a tiered mileage plan of up to 2,500, 5,000 or 7,500 miles.
-
Automatic Coverage
Most qualifying vehicles you add to your collection are automatically covered for 30 days, up to $100,000.
What qualifies a vehicle as an antique, classic or collector car?
Qualifying antique, classic and collector cars are:
- Driven on a limited basis and only for pleasure.
- Stored in an enclosed, locked garage.
- Not used for racing, timed events or driver's education.
- Vehicles that have collectible value.
If you drive your car regularly, you might consider getting a quote for USAA Auto Insurance.
