Transfer Between Accounts

We get that you have multiple accounts for different reasons. So, we make it easy to set up one-time or recurring transfers between your USAA Federal Savings Bank (FSB) accounts or accounts at other banks.^{See note1}

For your convenience, you can find your upcoming transfers as well as the last 90 days of your transfer history when visiting the "Activity" section on usaa.com or in the mobile app.

When the Money Will Be Available

Between USAA FSB accounts: Transfers made on weekdays before 9 p.m. CT are available immediately. Transfers made after 9 p.m., on the weekend or on federal holidays are available only for ATM withdrawals and one-time purchases until the next business day.
From USAA FSB to another bank: Generally, 1 to 3 business days, once the non-USAA FSB account is verified.
From another bank to USAA FSB: Initiate the transfer with USAA FSB and it could be available right away. Some transfers are subject to a hold of up to 7 business days, as detailed in the depository agreement (PDF)(Opens in new window).

USAA FSB Transfers

Between USAA FSB Accounts: Up to your available balance.

External Transfers
Transfers to and from external bank accounts are generally subject to separate daily and 30-day limits. Recurring and one-time transfers count toward your available daily and 30-day limits.

Transfers to external bank accounts: $5,000 daily and $25,000 within 30 days
Transfers from external bank accounts: $5,000 daily and $25,000 within 30 days

You may occasionally qualify to transfer more than the standard limit. If you qualify on that day, you'll see a higher transfer limit amount.

Note: Additional limits restrictions may apply to newly established USAA FSB deposit accounts.

We'll need to verify your non-USAA FSB account the first time you use it to make a transfer. This can take up to 3 business days. Once the account is verified, you can request transfers.

Make a Wire Transfer

A wire transfer is a good choice if you're sending more than $5,000 or need to get money to someone outside the U.S. Some wire transfers can be ordered online, but international transfers and transfers greater than $10,000 must be ordered over the phone.
