It’s called the armed services PCS endorsement, and it’s added to your homeowners or renters policy at no extra cost.

If your household goods get lost or damaged during a PCS move, we’re here to help.

Who it’s for

It’s for active duty and active reserve service members with PCS orders.

We’re currently rolling out new locations. If it’s available, we’ll automatically add it to your policy.

Things to know before you file a claim

  • You need to use a military mover: This coverage only applies to government-contracted moving companies. It doesn’t cover do-it-yourself or private company moves.
  • Your policy needs to be active: It’s important to keep your policy active until your items are delivered to your new home. That way, there won’t be a lapse in coverage.

Homeowners and renters PCS coverage FAQ

You don’t need to do anything. When it comes to your area, we’ll add it to your policy for free.

To check if you have PCS coverage, review your policy documents.

It covers household goods shipped by your military moving company.

This includes items that are scratched, marked or broken because they weren’t packed or loaded correctly. It doesn’t include mold damage.

It’s best to file a claim as soon as your items are delivered and you notice missing or broken things.

You have up to 180 days from your delivery date to report the damage to us and your moving company.

If your loss is more than $10,000, you may have additional coverage from your main homeowners or renters policy. Your normal deductible may apply to the remaining amount.
