To collect the information needed to help put together your home’s minimum estimated rebuild, we work with Verisk [Opens in New Window]. Using the data from claims and their software, they generate an estimate before a home loss happens.
Your estimate reflects expenses like:
- Current cost of building materials.
- Architect fees, building code changes, demolition, debris removal and labor.
- Working around existing improvements without causing further damage.
Verisk follows our strict security and privacy policies to keep your information safe and secure.
We also use your home’s verified characteristics to help estimate the cost. You can verify your home’s characteristics from your policy summary.
We’ll send a letter about 60 days before your policy renewal to let you know if any changes to your policy are needed. You'll also receive your policy renewal packet, which includes a list of the home characteristics you provided. You can review any changes on your policy summary.
Several things could cause your premium to go up. Construction costs, building code changes or home improvements could increase your rebuild cost and affect your rate.
We suggest you insure your home for at least the minimum estimated rebuild cost. This estimate is the minimum needed to rebuild your home and is based on the current prices for materials, labor and other related costs. It's different from the market value, which is the amount a buyer might pay for your home, or the assessed value which is what a tax assessor says your home is worth.
It’s important to make sure you have enough coverage to rebuild your home. But having more coverage can help give you greater peace of mind and increased home protection. Review your home details and coverage on your policy summary.
Having enough coverage on your flood or wind policy is important when it comes to keeping your home protected.

Flood coverage is available in all states. Wind coverage is only available in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas.
