USAA designed life insurance with the military in mind.

USAA military protection plus is an additional benefit added to USAA term and Secure Whole Life insurance policies at no additional cost.

It helps you plan for your future by protecting your ability to get life insurance when you separate or retire from military service no matter if your health is changed.

It also can provide up to $25,000 for traumatic injuries.

So, here's how it works.

While you're on active or reserve duty, acquire a USAA term or Secure Whole Life insurance policy that will supplement your SGLI coverage. When you separate or retire you can increase your USAA coverage by using your military protection plus benefits.

This will let you replace up to 2 times the coverage you already have with USAA up to the full amount of SGLI coverage you had in place.

You won't need to go through any medical exams or answer any health questions.

Your life will have many changes. Let us help protect your ability to provide for those that you love and give you the peace of mind that you want.

Thank you for your service to our country. For more information call 1-800-531-LIFE to speak with a life insurance specialist.

Coverage with extra features for military members

Protection equal to SGLI

When you separate or retire, you can add coverage equal to your SGLI without a medical exam.‍ ‍

Severe injury benefits

Policies may cover up to $25,000 if you suffer certain injuries in the line of duty.

Coverage during wartime

You'll still be covered if your death is caused by war or an act of terrorism.

Here’s what a veteran has to say about their experience.

“During my military service, I had basic SGLI coverage which I thought was enough. As I did more research, I found that given my job as a combat aviation pilot, I was underinsured. With USAA, I was able to add another $500K in life insurance to augment SGLI.

When I left the military, my Military Feature Insurability Rider policy replaced SGLI with additional life insurance and no medical exam. I would encourage any active-duty member to protect themselves with extra life insurance before they leave the military.”
