Electric vehicles are covered by USAA Auto Insurance. So, if you drive an EV or hybrid, we’ve got the coverage you need.
If your EV battery gets damaged in a covered event, we’ll help pay for the battery replacement or repair.
If you have towing and labor on your policy, we’ll tow you to a nearby repair shop if your battery dies. See note 1

It depends on the complexity of the repairs. Also, some EV models need to be repaired by the original manufacturer.
USAA Auto Insurance doesn’t cover EV charging equipment. In most cases, it’s covered by USAA Homeowners Insurance. Whether it’s considered dwelling or personal property depends on how the equipment is attached to the home.
If it’s hardwired or permanently attached, it’s likely considered part of the dwelling. If it’s not hardwired, then it’s considered personal property and is subject to certain perils.
