It’s a discount program that rewards you for using smart home devices. It’s not available in North Carolina, and is only available for some members in Wisconsin.

Just connect at least 2 water leak detectors from First Alert and Honeywell Home and start sharing data with us. We’ll give you a discount on your USAA Homeowners Insurance.

How to start saving

First, you'll need a USAA Homeowners Insurance policy. If you don't have one, you can get a quote for homeowners insurance.

Simple setup

Install and connect at least 2 water leak detectors from First Alert using their app.

Quick enrollment

Confirm your devices are Wi-Fi compatible, then enroll and sign our agreement. We'll also need you to share your data with us.

Easy savings

Save up to 8% on your homeowners insurance. Your discount is applied automatically the day after your devices share data.

Connected Home FAQ

Yes, you can sign up as many homes as you have USAA Homeowners Insurance policies for. Each home must be in an eligible state and share data from at least 2 water leak detectors.

In most states, we don’t apply the Connected Home discount and the Protective Device Credit at the same time.

If you’re eligible for both, we’ll apply the Connected Home discount since it’s the larger of the two.

If you’re eligible for the Sprinkler Discount, you can receive it along with the Connected Home discount.

No, the Connected Home discount is currently only available when you connect 2 water leak detectors from First Alert.

Other devices can still help protect your home, but they won't qualify you for this discount.

First Alert and Honeywell Home will share device usage data with us for all devices connected to your app. This won’t include any audio, video or still images.

We’ll use the data internally to improve our offerings and better serve USAA members. We’ll never share your data with third-party or marketing companies.
