  1. Download the USAA DriveSafe App.

    It's free. You can download USAA DriveSafe for iOS (Opens in a New Window). Or download USAA DriveSafe for Android (Opens in a New Window).

  2. Set up the USAA DriveSafe App.

    Enable all the phone settings needed to automatically log your trips, so we can calculate what savings you may be able to get. Learn more in our setup guide.

  3. Take your first trip.

    We’ll automatically score your trips. You don’t need to turn on the app every time you drive.

New or renewal policies underwritten in United Services Automobile Association (USAA), USAA Casualty Insurance Company, USAA General Indemnity Company and Garrison Property and Casualty Insurance Company may see savings off premium at renewal and receive initial participation discount when enrolled in either USAA SafePilot® or USAA SafePilot Miles® program. Must be enrolled in a safe driving program to receive discounts and/or mileage based rates. Earned driving discount is offered at renewal and is based on driving behavior of all rated drivers on the policy. USAA SafePilot initial participation discount is applicable to your initial enrollment, not to exceed 365 days, and expires at first renewal in which the driving discount is applied. Discount will vary by program selected and may vary by state. Discounts subject to change over life of the policy.

    New or renewal policies underwritten by any other USAA affiliate not named in paragraph above and which are enrolled in one of the safe driving programs, USAA SafePilot® or USAA SafePilot Miles®, on or after October 2026 may see savings off renewal premium or may be subject to an increase at renewal based on a personalized safe driving adjustment that may be earned by each participant. Participation is voluntary. USAA SafePilot initial participation discount is only applicable to initial enrollment not to exceed 365 days or until a personalized safe driving adjustment is earned. USAA SafePilot Miles may provide savings when driving less. Policies remaining consistently enrolled term to term in either program may receive a discount at new business and renewal. When a member is unenrolled from either program after earning a qualified driving score, a prior performance factor may be applied and may result in an increase or decrease to subsequent policy terms for that member, regardless of enrollment. Terms, savings, increases and discounts may vary by location.

    USAA SafePilot and USAA SafePilot Miles are optional programs that are available with an active USAA auto insurance policy. USAA SafePilot Miles is best for those comfortable with a monthly bill that varies and for those who drive less than 8,000 miles per year. Both programs only available in select states. Program availability and state restrictions apply. Smartphone, data plan, download of the USAA DriveSafe® app and multifactor authentication required. Programs are subject to change.
