It’s a telematics program that rewards you for safe driving with a discount on your USAA Auto Insurance.

It uses a smartphone app and other sensors to automatically log your trips and learn driving habits like phone usage and braking. Then it gives you a driving score so you can see how you did.

How is USAA SafePilot different from the USAA SafePilot Miles™ program?

If you don’t drive often, you can save with USAA SafePilot Miles. You get a monthly rate that varies based on how many miles you drive. If you drive less, you save more.

Everyone on the policy must participate in the program. You could get up to 20% savings for lower mileage and an earned driving discount of up to 20% off your premium for driving safely.‍ ‍^{See note 1}

To find out if you're enrolled in USAA SafePilot, go to your auto policy summary. If you're not, you can opt in there. You can also add or remove participants.

You need to have a USAA Auto Insurance policy to participate. If you plan to get a new USAA policy, you can enroll in USAA SafePilot at the same time.
