About Matthew
Matthew Angel joined USAA in 2010. He currently leads the Advice Content and Standards team with the Enterprise Advice Group. With a mission to facilitate members' financial security, the Advice Content and Standards team develops member-facing advice content that supports all lines of business, including auto, home, personal finance, insurance strategies, retirement guidance, military advice and disaster preparedness.
Before taking a leadership role over the Advice Content and Standards team, Matthew served as advice director for personal finance, providing spending, saving, debt and other bank-related personal finance advice. Previously at USAA, he was a financial advisor and led teams of advisors helping members plan and build their financial security.
Matthew is a graduate from Angelo State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He also holds a master's degree in business administration with a finance concentration from the University of Texas at San Antonio. After graduation and before joining USAA, he worked as a high school science teacher.
Matthew's professional credentials include the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and SAFe® agile certification.
Matthew and his wife have four children. He is active in his local church and enjoys board games and backyard cookouts.
