USAA Pay Bills FAQ

Using USAA Pay Bills and safeguarding my payments

Members with a minimum age of 18 years and an active checking account with a USAA Federal Savings Bank are qualified to enroll in USAA Pay Bills Service. Also, they need to have an email address, phone number and address within the US under their profile. USAA Youth Spending Accounts are not eligible for USAA Pay Bills Service.

Setting up and managing e-bills for non-USAA bills

An e-bill is an electronic version of your paper bill. It typically contains the same information as your statement. You can enroll eligible non-USAA bills to get your statements online instead of receiving them on paper.

Adding, changing and deleting billers

Go to the USAA Pay Bills page and choose "Add New Bill."

Setting up payment accounts

For USAA bills, you can pay your bill with any checking or savings account. You can also use MasterCard®, Visa® or American Express® to pay your auto and property bill.

Non-USAA bills must be paid with a USAA checking account.

Setting up and managing automatic payments

On the USAA Pay Bills page, choose the name of the biller and pick either "Set Up Automatic Payments" or "Modify Automatic Payments." To modify a USAA credit card automatic payment plan, cancel the existing plan, then set up a new one.

Scheduling, funding and posting payments

You can schedule non-USAA bill payments up to one year in advance. You can schedule payments to USAA bills based on the following:

  • USAA Auto and property – Until the end of the policy period
  • USAA Life and health insurance – 180 days in advance
  • USAA Consumer loans – 180 days in advance
  • USAA Credit cards – 90 days in advance

Paying consumer and home equity loans

Yes. You can make a payment for the minimum amount due and then set up a one-time additional principal payment. You won’t be able to make an additional payment if your loan is past due.

Managing my hidden bills

You'll get a notification if you've:

  • Signed up to get e-bills for the biller.
  • Set up a reminder for the bill through USAA Pay Bills.

Canceling or modifying payments

Yes. You can change or cancel payments for USAA bills until 11:59 p.m. CT the business day before the "Deliver By" date. For non-USAA bills, you can make changes until the payment starts processing, which can be up to five business days before the scheduled "Deliver By" date.

Sharing access to my bills

Starting Feb. 1, 2025, members with shared access will no longer be able to view, manage or pay shared bills.

Reminders and alerts

These are notifications you can set up to remind you when your bill's due date is coming up. They’re just called something different depending on the type of bill. Reminders are for your non-USAA bills, and alerts are for USAA auto and property and credit card bills.
