Auto Insurance Policy FAQ

Drivers

You should add licensed drivers who live in your household or drive one of your vehicles on a regular basis.

Your contract provides coverage to all licensed drivers in your household. And we need information about all of them to give you the most accurate rate.

You can add a new driver online.

Coverage

Yes, in most cases, but there are some exceptions.

For example, if a car isn’t yours but is available for you to drive regularly, we probably won’t cover you when you drive that car.

And if you borrow a friend’s car with permission, their car policy covers you because they gave permission for you to borrow the car.

Accidents and tickets

It depends on your policy location and state laws. Driving-related tickets could affect your policy for about three years.

If you’ve had a major violation in the past five years, that could also impact the rate we can offer.

Other questions

Yes. You can get a quoted premium online for a new or used vehicle before you decide to make the change to your policy.

Quoted coverage won’t be effective until you choose to make the change to your policy. Get a quote to add your vehicle.
